Sassy and full of wisdom, this blog written by Monique Gajadhar will delight curious minds.
Monique Gajadhar contacted us to work on her blog because she didn’t recognize herself in the design of here previous website. Me and Mr. Darcy is a blog where she posts sassy articles that are full of wisdom about love and life. With a background in fashion and visual communication, Monique was aware of the importance of the way you showcase your content. Fussy and determined, she knew exactly what she wanted in terms of rendering: glam, girly and quirky. With these guidelines, she gave us free reign to create a new layout in her image.
So we started from scratch to find a new visual identity to fit with her expressive and flourishing voice. As the content is all about the writing, we chose a nice serif typeface for comfortable long reading, and to highlight the titles and short-texts, we picked the gorgeous Oroban. With some trendy pastels for the background and wacky icons to punctuate the texts, the balance between quirky and glamour was found!
As we wanted Monique to be able to chose and insert the cute icons in the text herself, we added this option to her text-editor. Enabling her to play with the elements of the text was essential so we worked assiduously on the backoffice to give her all the tools needed to speak her mind. As a result, most elements of the website are fully customisable, posts can be ordered like a patch work, colors of every articles are dynamically generated from the article’s thumbnail, etc . Everything is set up to make the editing of the website easy without sacrificing features.
